Most scenic walks around Noosa

Noosa has incredible scenes no matter where you look. You have the sea dazzling you with crystal clear turquoise waters, the Glasshouse Mountains in their volcanic glory, and even a simple look above had me spotting a koala hanging out in a gum tree. Scenic walks are somewhat inundated in Noosa, giving you something to look at every way you turn.

Noosa National Park

Almost all walking directions will point towards Noosa National Park and for good reason. With so many tracks to explore, you can set your destination near or far depending on how much walking you want to do. The most famous track within the park is the Noosa Coastal Track that leads you down well-maintained path along the bays and cliffs that make up the park. This walk will take you all the way to Sunshine Beach if you choose, where you can then catch the bus back to Noosa if you don’t feel like walking the long return back. There is also in inland track called the Tanglewood Track.

Mt. Tewantin

This short 1km track up to the very top of Mt. Tewantin isn’t very challenging, so we’d recommend it for someone wanting to get a little active at the end of the day. However, the views are incredible with a 360 degree overlook of the mountains, hinterland, and ocean beyond. The track is ideal for families and is safely fenced off throughout the track and viewpoint.

Kin Kin Trail

Just in the hinterland is a lengthy track called the Kin Kin Countryside Trail that will take you through the hills and farmlands right next to Noosa. Pack a picnic for a relaxing afternoon or keep walking through for a longer day hike to the lookout. It gets hot, so pack plenty of water.

Great Noosa Trail

For a longer walk embark on the Great Noosa Trail, which is a long pass that will take you through the national park and scenic areas of Noosa. You can hop on the trail for just a few hours or go ahead and do the three-day excursion on which you will camp from station to station.

The Ocean Track

To get away from the masses of Hastings Street we suggest heading to Peregian Beach. There an ocean track that will take you between Coolum and Peregian where you can look out at the peaceful sea, listen to birds, and even climb a small sand dune along the way.

For most of these scenic walking trails, be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and most likely your bathers. Even for hikes within the hinterland, you may come across many lakes and swimming holes that will beckon you to take a dip in even just for a short moment. The area can get quite hot in the summer months, but the views and the relaxed vibes in Noosa will leave you in awe and satisfied.
