Noosa is located on Australia’s East Coast, 160KM North of Brisbane, in sunny Queensland. By Air

If you’re short on time then air travel is most likely your best option. The closest airport to Noosa is Sunshine Coast Airport, located in Marcoola, around 29KM south of Noosa. Direct flights operate from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Auckland, and approximate flight times are as follows:

Sydney –Sunshine Coast: 1hr25

Melbourne – Sunshine Coast: 2hr25

Adelaide – Sunshine Coast: 2hr40

Auckland – Sunshine Coast: 3hr30

Once you step off the plane, it will only take around 30 minutes to drive to Noosa, and Sunshine Coast Airport offers a range of handy options. Rent a car, jump in a taxi, or hop onto the shuttle bus, and you’ll be in Noosa in no time.

By Car

Driving to Noosa from Brisbane will take around one and a half hours. Head north on the Bruce Highway, before following the Eumundi turn-off. Then exit at Eenie Creek Road, and this will lead you into town. Drivers should be aware that whilst there are no toll roads in the Noosa area, there are several in and around Brisbane, which you may pass on your route. Alternatively, if you’re coming from the North then Noosa is around one hour south of Gympie. Simply head south on the Bruce Highway, turn off at Cooroy, and follow the Cooroy Noosa Road until you arrive in Noosa.

By Bus

Another easy and affordable travel option is getting to Noosa by bus or coach. This allows you to leave the driving to someone else whilst you sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. There are a number of services operating in the Noosa area to choose from. Greyhound Australia is renowned for offering an extensive bus network all around the country, including Noosa. Coaches take around 2.5-3 hours from Brisbane, and 4-4.5 hours from Gold Coast. Travel times from other locations can usually be found on the companies’ websites. These services can generally be booked online quickly and easy.

By Train

Alternatively, Noosa can be reached by rail. The closest train stations are located in Cooroy, around 20 minutes inland from Noosa, and Nambour, approximately 40 minutes south of Noosa. From both of these locations, regular bus services operate to take you to Noosa. Both rail and bus timetables can be found online to help you to plan your journey.
