The Legacy of Longboarding

For those who love swell and surf culture, the Noosa Festival of Surfing is a nine-day event established in 1992. It showcases the world’s best longboarders, focusing on bringing together the community to celebrate the sport. Beyond surfing, the festival puts on a show with live music, workshops, brewery experiences, guided walks and yoga. This array of events keeps locals and travellers entertained throughout the nine days.

Beyond the Waves

Noosa’s astonishing choice of beach breaks and points leave surfers flocking to its coastline to experience the consistent waves. Surfing is a core sport in the region’s culture, tourism and economy. Forming part of the World Surfing Reserve, it is no surprise that Noosa hosts this incredible event.

A Global Gathering

During the festival, surfers from all over the world, from professional surfers to world champions and young guns, travel to the event to get involved. If you are not already in awe by their skill, you will learn to love the art of surfing after watching nine days of incredible surfers take to the waves.

Man’s Best Friend Hits the Waves

In 2012, VetShopAustralia founded The Noosa Surfing Dog Championship as part of the Noosa Festival of Surfing. This has become a popular part of the event due to its entertainment value not forgetting the skill and coordination between the dog and his owner. The duo must compete on a standup paddleboard to win the Best Wave award. This display of loyalty and trust from mans best friend has grown into the largest dog surfing competition of its kind in the world.
