The ideal Noosa weekend itinerary

4 mins read

If you’re heading to Noosa for the weekend, there’s so much to see and experience and you can keep it as relaxing or thrilling as you like. With a terrain and culture as versatile as it is, by the time you leave we promise you’ll be planning your next trip back. Set your sights on the beautiful national park, eat your heart out at some of the finest restaurants, plan as many activities as you’d like, and you’ll start feeling like a local the more you ease into this relaxed lifestyle.

Plan to arrive on the Friday evening, unpack your bags and get settled into your hotel. Grab your beach blanket and head to Noosa Main Beach for a spectacular sunset before heading to Hastings Street for dinner. End the night with a drink at Miss MoneyPennys and keep an ear out for live music while you stroll down the street admiring the style and grace that Noosa embraces.

On Saturday, why not wake up early to pack as much in as possible. Noosa wouldn’t be complete without having breakfast at Cafe Le Monde, a long-time favourite where you can spend endless hours sipping your latte in European-style seating watching the people pass by. After you’ve fuelled up, start your walk to Noosa National Park where you may catch a glimpse of whales, dolphins, and turtles in water that quite literally sparkles. You can make this as short or long as you like, as the Coastal Track will take you all the way down to Sunshine Beach.

Once you’ve checked the hike off your bucket list, you can either opt for relaxing at any of the golf resorts and spas in the area, or instead booked a 4WD tour of Noosa North Shore and Fraser Island. If you’ve come a long way, we’d suggest the latter as its a unique guided opportunity to learn about the land before you, see the geography and animals, as well as get your heart pumping through long stretches of beach that are as beautiful as they are pristine.

On Sunday, you may need a bit of relaxation and want to get to know the community so head to the Noosa Farmers Markets where you can find fresh produce and goods grown locally in the Noosa region. If you have the energy, I’d suggest booking in a water activity like surfing, kayaking, or a whale watching tour when they’re migrating through. Exploring the waterways of Noosa river is the ultimate testament to Noosa’s beauty.

As you pack your bags and start to head home, select an inland route and visit Laguna Lookout or go even further to the hinterland and Mt. Tinbeerwah to catch an incredible view of the whole lot with mountains, hinterland, and the ocean beyond. We promise you’ll feel like a true weekend warrior at the end of it all.
