Noosa isn’t only reserved for the luxurious, although it can have the appearance to be so. Thanks to the surf culture and nature reserves, this town has remained down to earth and offers backpackers their fair share of luxurious experience without the outstanding cost. You’ll find hostels in line with beautiful resorts, steps away from the beach and Hastings Street. From live music to days in the outdoors, a backpackers trip to Noosa will be well worth the travel.

For accommodation, book yourself into a stay at several hostels in the area including Nomads, Halse Lodge, and Flashpackers Noosa. Dolphins Beach House is another hostel located just further out in Sunshine Beach. Not only will you meet other travellers roaming through, but you’ll also find a local or two as many of these places double as bars and hangout spots for the community to come together.

Noosa has an incredible environment giving you the ultimate list of things to do including surfing, kayaking, hiking, biking, horse riding, and boating. While some of these may cost a little, the majority of them are low cost or even free. Spend the day walking through Noosa National Park and you’ll see your own guided tour complete with dolphins, whale watching, turtles, and even koalas. Pack a picnic and join in on some swim and sun in any of the bays with turquoise waters that sparkle.

For nightlife and must-eats head to Betty’s Burgers that serves up cheap fare that is a local’s favourite. Rolling Rock Nightclub, Miss Moneypenny’s, Halse Lodge, and Nomads will have different events going on throughout the week with bar crawls and live music to boot. Just outside of Noosa is World Heritage site Fraser Island and plenty to explore throughout the Great Sandy National Park for those looking to escape and camp for a night.

There are plenty of buses to take you to and from Noosa so you can explore the outskirts in Sunshine Beach or the Eumundi Markets. Backpackers can step into something relaxing with good weather, great food, and a full immersion in the beauty of Noosa.
